DEVELOPMENT OF LEARNING MATERIALS ON THE NAMES OF THE DAY OF JUDGMENT BASED ON CONTEXTUAL TEACHING AND LEARNING FOR FIFTH GRADE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS

This research aimed to develop Islamic Religious Education learning materials about the other names of the Day of Judgment for fifth-grade elementary school students. The development was carried out because the materials previously used in learning were still limited to brief explanations and basic definitions without sufficient reinforcement from relevant Qur’anic verses. This study applied the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which consists of the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The development process was conducted by integrating Qur’anic verses related to Yaumul Ba’ats, Yaumul Mahsyar, Yaumul Mizan, Yaumul Hisab, and Yaumul Jaza’. In addition, the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach was implemented to make the learning process more meaningful and connected to students’ daily lives. The results indicated that the developed materials were more organized, comprehensive, and easier for students to understand. Furthermore, the integration of Qur’anic verses helped students gain a clearer understanding of the concept of the Day of Judgment and its foundations in Islamic teachings. Therefore, the developed materials are expected to improve students’ understanding of Islamic creed, especially regarding the Day of Judgment.
