PERAN GURU PAI DALAM PROGRAM ADIWIYATA DI MAN 3 BANJAR SEBAGAI KONTRIBUSI DARI MADRASAH UNTUK KEBERLANJUTAN BUMI
Abstract
The flood disaster in early 2025 in Indonesia, including in the province of South Kalimantan, which was exacerbated by drainage and extreme weather, was a reminder of the importance of human responsibility for the environment. Therefore, this momentum is a reflection to care more about the environment. Building awareness of the environment can be done by anyone and anywhere, including at school. One of the schools that builds concern for the environment is MAN 3 Banjar as a National Adiwiyata school in 2024. Adiwiyata School is a school that focuses on environmental conservation through cleanliness, order, and beauty. The success of achieving this status is certainly the result of synergy from various parties including Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers. The purpose of this study was to examine how the role of PAI teachers in maintaining the Adiwiyata program at MAN 3 Banjar. This study used a qualitative approach with observation, interview, and documentation methods. The results showed that PAI teachers at MAN 3 Banjar have a crucial role as a guide for students in maintaining cleanliness and sustainability of the surrounding environment through the integration of Islamic values in various school activities. PAI teachers also support and play an active role in the P5RA project with an environmentally friendly theme. Furthermore, PAI teachers also educate female students on how to clean and dispose of sanitary menstrual pad properly during menstruation so that they are able to properly dispose of their menstrual pad. As for male students, PAI teachers always urge them to use water wisely when doing restroom. These efforts are taken as a concrete form of maintaining Adiwiyata school status as well as contributing as khalifah fil ardh to the sustainability of the earth
